Let's get this party started...

I've been blogging for a couple of years on another more public blog. One that my family, friends and co-workers all know I write. Not a big mega blog, it doesn't have a ton of followers, it doesn't get a ton a visits, but does have a fairly steady stream of traffic. Pioneer Woman I'm not, but it appears there are a few folks who seem to enjoy following my ramblings.

Through it all, I've posted bits and pieces about my attempts at weight loss, at trying to get more fit, adopting needed lifestyle changes. Part of me liked the accountability of talking about it to people who know me. Loved when others told me I'd influenced them to make their own changes. Yet, I always held a bit back. Being public with my identity prevented some level of honesty. Definitely kept facts and figures like actual weight and measurements out of the blog. On my other blog I write on many other topics, so I never want to write too many diet and fitness posts, afraid I'd turn away the folks interested in my many other, enthralling endeavors (yes, I know, blogging is a bit narcissistic, OK a lot).

Deep down I wished I had a more private, more anonymous blog. A place to journal in a public, but not too public way. Tried tumblr, but that never went anywhere. Kicked the idea around, but never moved it forward. Until last week upon seeing a billboard as I drove home from Thanksgiving weekend.

"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle....there's a reason REDUCE is first"

And with that I knew the name of my new blog.
